Default Why meriweather carrying a gun isnt a big deal

Ive spent some time in FL and especially southern florida and EVERYONE carries a gun with them, whether it be in a car or on their person. Its more the culture there than anything else so I think anyone who questions why he had a gun on him in the first place has no idea about the culture down there. Its the same thing with most of the southern states....they are all gun nuts down there.

Its like wondering why a person from Oklahoma speaks Y'all...its a non-issue

EXACTLY. First of all people here need to realize the the univresity of Miami isnt located in the safest of places. It wasnt so long ago that a player from that school was shot and killed. meriweather legally has the right to have a gun, Carry a gun and use it if put into a dangerous situation. who wouldnt make use of their gun if put in harms way. some people need to get over themselves.

They went out to check out a suspicious car outside their apartment and from the car came gunfire that hit his roommate. Had he not had the gun to defend himself, he might be dead...... End of story.

I don't think its a huge deal, but to say EVERYONE has a gun is just wrong. Have friends that either live or have lived in the Southern Florida/Miami area and none of them had a gun. BTW, the first thing that popped into my head when I read your post was someone's mom saying, "well, if everyone else jumped off a cliff, would you jump off too?"

Not too many people from new england will realize just how normal legally owning a gun is down south. ALOT of southerners believe in the right to carry guns and they excersise that right. For many getting a gun license is right up there with getting a drivers license for a good amount of people. as a matter of fact I'll venture to assume that there are a lot of players on our "chior boy" patriots team that legally own guns and carry it with them. youd be naive not to think so.

Guns aside, the foot stomping was pretty gross behavior!

But EVERYONE in southern Florida foot stomps.

Don't flame me, it's just a joke.

Was it as gross as when seymour stomped somebody.

or

when Rodney Harrison yanks a receivers (reggie wayne) facemask towards him while the recievers momentum is going towards the ground.

or when vince wilfork body slams a runningback (leon washington) after the whistle was blown.

the fact is Im pretty sure we all cheered when it all happened. emotions do take over people and they make bad decision even our own guys. If it wasnt for the refs slowing the momentum in some intense situations with intentional ticky- tack penalties during the patriots titans game this year, you would have seen some "gross" behavior, RIGHT? meriweathers character is positively consistent if you ask me.
