Default Dolphins may trade for QB David Carr

Sirius Radio reports the Dolphins may be the leading candidate to trade for David Carr by giving up just a 7th Round Pick this year! - ,The extra one they got from us for Welker...Yes I said a 7th round pick!.

I think Carr may be worth more than that or Houston just wants to get rid of him for whatever price/pick they can get although just getting a 7th pick is too low of a acceptable trade.

Carr would probably make a decent transaction for Miami and will likely do better there than he did in Houston,If Miami does sign Carr expect the Dolphins to add a little insurance with their new QB by taking Levi Brown as first draft pick to add better protection on their line which won't be hard to do since it was awful last year.

Poor David goes from one of the worst OL in football to another one but Levi may be a part of the help he needs to remain upright for most of the games he will play in if he lands there.

I'd trade a Pats fourth for him right now, or even a three... As long as the contract was reasonable or could be made so, for status as a backup.

That's the key term. Carr comes with a pretty hefty contract that a team would have to take on, especially a team like Miami, who doesn't have a lot of room IIRC - That's the reason his market price is so low.

BTW- THIS would make a lot more sense to me than going after Trent Green

Great move for them if they can pull it off.

So they are getting a QB who can't play, but at least they are getting him cheap in the form of a 7th round pick?

This is the same flawed logic that had people praising the Dolphins last year when they dealt for Joey Harrington.

That's the worst idea I've seen on here in awhile.

At the moment, I think Carr would have little difficulty transitioning to the Miami offense: he knows what it's like to spend time staring at the sky.

I think Carr might enjoy playing backup in NE: he'd have Mankins keeping him off the turf again, like Mankins did when they were teammates at Fresno State.
