Default I Say Move Up For Landry - Saftey is a Safe Bet!!

Landry is a top 10 pick easily. Only two other guys have gone that high as a Saftey in the Last 10 Years.

Sean Taylor #5

Roy Williams #8

This is An Impact Player with rare physical tools, Theese guys don't come around all that often. there is a big dropoff between him and Merriewether, Griffen, and Nelson.

Safties are becoming more important with all theese new breed tight ends.
And because Saftey is a Position that relies on instincts and athleticism, there is almost no chance this guy is a bust, unless he's injury prone.

I wouldn't trade up that high for any other position or player,
But Landry is A Sure Thing. Just imagine our Defense with Landry and all his versitility that he brings to the table.

Well it's March So at least for now I can Dream?

I forgot to say i didn't include them, cuz it's too early to evaluate their draft worthiness.

#1) One player alone doesn't change a team - Taylor hasn't brought DC a Super Bowl
#2) Kraft has been on record stating that the Pats view the best draft value as a mid-to-late first rounder - they don't holdout, you don't gamble guaranteed signing bonus money on an unproven talent, and you still get a close to top-flight player. The only time in the BB/Pioli era I remember them moving up inthe first round was when the panicked that everyone was emptying out the DL cupboard and they moved up to the middle to get Ty Warren.
#3) We would have to package more than just our #24 and #28 to get into the top 5.
#4) We still need a quality YOUNG ILB as much or more than a Safety.

For those reasons, I am praying we get Willis and Nelson in the first round as Mel Kiper predicted in his latest mock draft.

That would be TEAM building.

I really want a DB in the first round and I dont think it matters wether it is a saftey or corner because I think we have a good amount of talent at both positions but I also think the last few years have proved the more depth at DB the better so sit at 24 and 28 and let a good one fall, you will get a good on at either 24 or 28 so why trade up?

roy williams can`t tackle .... if we end up with a player like that it will be bad. Also , you do realize that he will not played a down in NFL and might make more than most proven vets in defence except colvin and adiaus thomas. Not sure how it will settle with the locker room.

I would say move up to top ten for a seymour type player but not a saftey

Warren was a trivial move (cost a 6th round pick).

Graham was a significant move, but still only to #21 or so.

Exactly, which is one reason why they won't give away their draft to move up to #5.

The other is they badly need a young stud ILB.

Whitner was a clear reach and everyone knew it so I don't think that's a fair comparison. Huff might be a good comparison in a few years.

It's all up to the braintrust. They've been very agressive this offseason so it wouldn't totally shock me if it happened.
