Default Pats have splurged on WR's, but this is over the top...

I know the Patriots have made many moves pertaining to wide receivers, but this is over the top.......

Patriots wide receiver Tom Brady went from playing with a lack of quality wide receivers to now having a surplus of them.

In a 24-hour stretch, the Patriots signed former Bengals wideout Kelley Washington to a five-year contract worth up to $22 million including a $300,000 signing bonus, and former Eagle Donte' Stallworth to a six-year, $33.1 million contract that included $2.9 million worth of guaranteed money.

Already the Patriots had signed former Miami wide receiver Wes Welker to a five-year, $18.1 million contract.

Pats' wide receiver Tom Brady, now that would be something.

Tom does have a reception in the NFL (a pass thrown by Kevin Faulk vs. Miami in 2001).

Tom Brady actually did have a TD reception in 2002 that was called back due to an illegal formation penalty against Buffalo.

That one in the Miami game was crazy that was a really good game. I remember thats the first time Patrick Pass CAUGHT a touchdown too. Ah, Chris Berman had a field day with that game.

That is amusing. Tom Brady did have that reception in 2001... I forget who threw the ball.. Givens maybe?

Givens was at Notre Dame in 2001.

By the way, there is precedence for this move. Belichick was impressed by Luke McCown's versitility with the Lions, and Marcus Vick with the Dolphins is playing wide receiver as well.

I hope to see some sets with Brady lined up wide outside and Cassel at weakside tight end, his old college position. Kevin Faulk at quarterback. Vince Wilfork, tailback. Crazy!

I'm surprised he doesn't have more receptions. QBs often get those bounce backs on passes that get tipped or hit linemen or something.

Doesn't Brady also have at least one punt to his credit? A pretty decent one, I think.

That was in the Miami "snow fireworks" playoff game a few years ago, I think. He kicked a hell of a pooch.
