Well, assuming he's healthy for TC, then somewhere between 35-45.

If he had somewhere between 35-45 catches for 500-600 yards, I think that would be a great season for him in year 2.

Of course, if he's not ready for TC, it's a whole different story.

Its a good thing that you weren't the coach of Steve Smith when he was first drafted. Smith's first year numbers:

10 receptions, 154 yards, 0 TD's. - B - u - s - t.

WR's generally start slow and he was hampered by injuries all year. Give him some time and he will be a good WR.

I think maybe the 0-9 folks are under the impression his ACL is going to keep him out the year, by all accounts that seems to not be the case. In fact, the current feeling, based on Tomase's reports, are that he could very well be back by training camp since it was a partial tear.

I'm keeping my expectations low for now, especially since the team seems to be interested in bringing in a proven deep threat for at least one year to give Jackson more time to develop.

1-2 passes a game would be a great "rookie" year as given his injuries and time lost, that's how I'm approaching this season.

If the Pats do not sign a deep threat WR and Jackson's knee heals quickly, I'd expect him to get more reps and things could change. But until we know whether they are depending on him or not as a deep threat it's tough to predict.

0-9 honestly though? He had more than that this year when he was injured all year.

I said 0-9. I just don't think he'll be healthy enough to start the season, and from there, I'm worried injuries will nag and he won't really get to see the field and will eventually hit IR.

I've seen it happen too many times with young "injury prone" WRs.
