Default Pats in Contact with Donte Stallworth???

There's nothing solid here, but I just heard on WHDH
Ch7 that according to the "sources of this reporter, the
Patriots are in contact with Donte Stallworth"

I don't remember the Sports Reporters name, but that's exactly what he said.

Michael Smith of ESPN is going to be on Sports Final tonite at 11:30,so I think this will be confirmed.

Just thought I'd pass this along.......interesting.

I wonder if Stallworth came down on his price?

I did the best I could....He's the weekend reporter on WHDH,he's fairly new and I didn't catch his name, but,I assure you that I quoted him correctly.

He did stick his neck out by saying "according to my sources".

He'd be a great pickup from a talent perspective. Does anyone have any insights into his character, work ethic, etc. What I'm asking is if he's a Patriot type of player or not? I don't know enough about him.

If Troy retires, I'd love to have a group of :

Stallworth - Deep Threat
Welker - 3rd Down and Posession
Caldwell - Jag, average WR.
Gaffney - see Caldwell.
Jackson - potential.

I guess I shouldn't say "love" but it would be an interesting group.

I am not a big fan of stallworth and have said so once our twice here. But he would make all those who feel we need a true deep threat as his average rec. last year was slightly more than 18 yards. and it is for that reason that I have changed my tune on him a bit.
