Default Who says the Pats are never big players in free agency?

This constant chatter of the national and a lot of the local media is driving me crazy. I think people forget all the efforts the Pats made to sign big free agents and failed. John Thorton was a big FA DT a few years ago and they made a serious push before he signed with Cinci. They had Mason in here for a visit, they tried to sign Samari Rolle and Jurevicius, they countered with a strong effort to Givens. In recent years they have tried to sign big ticket guys but it just hasn't worked out.

And of course, Colvin was one of the top free agents the year he was signed, and that same year they signed Rodney.

Well, they actually offered Mason more money than the Ravens, but his wife wanted to live in Baltimore. Since he is upset with his playing time, I think he regrets that decision.

I feel like I woke up in a parallel universe... Randy Moss, Adalius Thomas and two first round picks. Please don't pinch me...

All sounds good except for Randy Moss. I'd pass on him.

the pats are never big players in FA, but this year they have a ton of money and some holes, so it makes sense.

Well we will see what we do this year. In the mean time you cant make a case for us being big players until the moves we want to make are actually made.
