I think somebody like Thomas will break the bank and I wouldn't be surprised to see 5 or 6 big names come off the board quickly.

A lot of the traditional high rollers are too close to the cap. There may be some movement early (min, gb, etc), but I think most teams are going to step back this year and let the dust settle a bit.

These have probably changed in the last few days with teams cutting players to free up space and teams like Buffalo resigning some players but with that many teams having that much space I think fiscal responsibility will be forgotten in lieu of winning now, especially for some of the bottom feeders who have coaches and GMs who need to win now.

I'd like to see the browns makes good moves with all that cap room, and see what Romeo can do with an NFL caliber roster.

I agree. I root for RAC (when not playing the Pats) and Charlie now. RAC was actually easier because I've always been kind of indifferent about the Browns (old browns and new) but root for ND just seems wrong to me still so I struggle with it.

Those figures look like the Ask the Commish site figures that were off even when they were posted in January. Clayton's latest were from mid February, though teams like Indy and Baltimore have made some cap moves since and teams like us and the JETS had yet to account for things like franchising Samuel and paying Noodle's $9M in achieved incentives from 2006.

And cap space is only half of the equation. Teams need the cash to pay the bonus money to get the deals done. In not trying to sign their own Buffalo for one seems to be saying they aren't up for spending even with tons of cap space.

Thanks for the updated numbers.

I agree on Buffalo but that goes beyond the cap space with them. Wilson and Kraft are having their own war on the rich teams vs poor teams and if Wilson goes out and pays a ton of money on FAs he makes Kraft's point that they can compete, plus he's a cheap bleep.
