Since TB is going to take him, since they lost and pick fourth on FRI, the NFL network claims that the difference in contract between the 3 and 4 is about $7M projected.

Thinking about how much the top 5 picks are getting now, I would theorize that if BB/SP ever had a pick that high, they would trade down.

hes not about the money anyways. he just wants a chance to play in NFL and contribute. Hes got a good head on his shoulder

Calvin Johnson is the best overall player/person in the draft especially in character. He is going to be a shining light in the NFL for years to come and any team would/should be happy to have him on their team.

IMO he will never have a need for money. There has to be some point one hits where they just don't need anymore. He seems like a character guy and one deal with Nike and 7 mil is cake.

Well Calvin no longer seems like that "great character guy" everyone has been talking about. He seems like he has bigger problems and maybe he should be playing on the Bengals or Chargers. I mean all i heard about him was how he didn't care about money or how he had a good head on his shoulders and now this news?! What are we supposed to think ?
I can't imagine ANY person betting 7 million dollars on the flip of a coin, let alone the standout receiver of the 2007 NFL Draft.

What the hell was he thinking?
What side did he bet on?
How did he react when he lost?

seems to me like the browns also lost out by winning the flip as it could end up costing them more to get what could have been the same player.

in other words, since tampa bay and cleveland both have different needs, they probably both wanted to lose that flip since they realized their guy at 4 is a lot cheaper than the same guy at 3.
