Default Bill Simmons M.I.A.?

Has anyone noticed that, after keeping a daily diary of Super Bowl week in Miami, he seems to have forgotten to cover the actual Super Bowl?

I mean, presumedly, going to the game and writing about it was part of the gig, right?

Well -- it's Thursday, and we still haven't seen his post-SB wrap-up column, or any new material at all.

What happened? Did he have some big flap w/ ESPN about what he wanted to write about the SB? Did he get savagely beaten by a deranged Colts fan? Was he just not planning on writing about the SB, and then went on vacation?

Maybe he realized how full of himself he was after that stupid 'fantanking' article. That's the height of fan arrogance right there.

"hey, it's ok to pull for your team to lose so they MIGHT have a CHANCE at a #1 draft pick"

Couldn't agree more with going for the 1st pick in the draft. The Celtics have had so many bad breaks in the last 20 years that this is what is required.

If you don't like him, then don't bother reading the columns.

Just realize that the alternative to rooting for a tankjob this year and having 50% odds with the lottery is rooting for a 100% chance at prolonged mediocrity.

(Remember, we just need one of the first 2 picks).

And anyway, they're not tanking. They just suck.

He was on WEEI last week and said that he was leaving on Saturday and not covering the game.
