Re: Manning better not win MVP
The MVP should go to the colts coaching staff, on both sides of the ball.
They were phenomenal. I haven't seen that kind of game management from a Dungy coached team before. More important, their schemes were better on both sides of the ball, and the playcalling was fantastic. And pulling the defense together mid-year is a pretty remarkable accomplishment.
The point where I knew the Bears were toast was when Manning started griping about the play calling. That's when I knew they were going to win. The staff played to win, not to run high risk crap that didn't need to be run. The Bears decided the Colts weren't getting a big play, but could have 8 to 10 yards all day long, and the Colts resisted, at every turn, to do a Mike Martz. They simpy said, "ok."
Kind of a crappy game, in crappy weather, with crappy commercials.
But congratulations to the Colts. They were the best team in the NFL this year, and they deserve it.
