Perhaps the biggest factor tomorrow will be the weather. 60% chance of showers, winds 15-20MPH gusting to 28MPH. There're getting a little queazy over on Indy Star...

If weather is a mitigating factor and Da Bears slog and grind their way to victory and the nation is deprived of the opportunity to see Manning launch the aerial assault that finally validates his and Bill's careers, Polian is going pitch a fit.

That would be Polian's 5th loss as the GM of a Superbowl team - must be a record. Could also make it the last SB ever played in a non domed facility once he gets through with the competition committee.
gusting to 28 MPH which way will the wind be blowing, towards an endzone, or across the field?

Plenty of rain in the area -

http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?r...01111&loop=yes

Hard to say the rain will last until game time though it does seem to be converging on Miami (karma?). You have to think they have the field covered until kickoff so if it stops soon it won't be a problem.

Here is the NWS forecast discussion from 6am today-

TO TRY AND SIMPLIFY THE SYNOPTIC SITUATION...FOR TODAY ACROSS
SOUTH FLORIDA CLOUDY AND BREEZY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED...WITH
SHOWERS CONTINUING TO FORM ACROSS THE LOCAL GULF WATERS AND
STREAMING EASTWARD ACROSS THE PENINSULA...WITH THIS FEATURE
CONTINUING A SLOW NORTHWARD PROGRESSION THROUGH THE DAY AND
EVENING HOURS. ALTHOUGH THE FORECAST STATES SHOWERS LIKELY...SIGNIFICANT
RAINFALL ACCUMULATION IS NOT ANTICIPATED...ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE
EASTERN COASTAL AREAS. THE CONVERGENCE ZONE IS EXPECTED TO BREAK
DOWN OVER NIGHT AS THE LOW LEVEL RIDGE CONTINUES TO BUILD ACROSS
THE SOUTHEAST U.S. AND DOMINATE OVER THE REGION.

The wind has backed way down and doesn't look like it will be too bad, only 10-15mph, which to a strong armed QB is nothing really. That wind forecast is from NOAA however and any seagoing fishermen is a aware of their inconsistent predictions for wind so...
