my convo with my dad after the 2000 draft
so, shortly after the 2000 draft wrapped up here is a gist of the convo i had with my dad:
me: "hey you hear who the next starting qb for the pats is?"
dad: "what are you talking about"
me: "tom brady, we drafted tom brady"
dad: "yeah i know, but he probably won't even make the team"
me: "i know, im scared of that, the only way he makes the team this year is if we keep four quarterbacks, because he won't make it to the practice squad, i mean we just signed john friesz, and everyone loves michael bishop."
dad: "yeah bishop is nasty"
me: "well hes a great athlete"
dad: "so, what the heck are you talking about with this brady kid, its just because he's from michigan and you love them, isnt it?"
me: "no, ive really liked what ive seen from him, and i just have this gut feeling that somewhere in the future, it might be a handful of years, but sometime he will be the starting qb of the New England Patriots...you know how much i love bledsoe, but i just have a feeling as he gets older brady will step in"
i did NOT think what happend was gonna happen
i would never have believe it
but i did have a feeling that he would become the starter
