Default UK confirmed as NFL regualr season venue

The NFL has this morning confirmed that a regular season game next year will definitely be staged in London, as per this story on Sky Sports.

I suspect the identity of the player in the photo there (ronnie brown of the 'fins) and his team is not even close to being a coincidence.

I know a lot of you hate the idea of these games being played overseas, and were I in your shoes I would agree) but for us over here and the rest of Europe this is really exciting. And irrespective of it not being a Pats game, I intend to be there in full blue and silver regalia.

Yes. Miami is all but certain, and everything points to their opponents being the Giants. It was very heavily trailed last week that it would be, and there were a lot of hints on Sky's divisional coverage on Sunday evening that we would be seeing Tom Coughlin in London.

It has to be during the bye week period - and thwe last possible one would be the penulitmate bye week you'd think to allow the teams a week out after to adjust to jet lag - that probably means that week eight is the latest it could happen (which was October 30 this season)

My guess is they wil go relatively early. While it doesn't get especially cold hear in October, you'd have to think it would be a night game (to suit domestic audience back in the US) and the concept of sitting around in the cold for three/four hours is not the ideal mass market appeal the league will be looking for. (These are not ice-storm-hardened New Englanders)

So my guess would be a game in late September or early October. (weeks three to six)
