Default Is Gaffney signed beyond this season?

I sure hope so. We need him, but if he isn't signed his price has gone up.

Not just signed but his cap # is $600K. Yes, 10% of what Branch is getting.

The way Gaffney has performed during the playoffs kind of reminds me how Givens started to come on late in the 2003 season. We saw then, and are seeing now, flashes of a potential 60-70+ receptions and 800-900 yard receiver.

It's nice to know he is signed for another season. I think he has quickly become Brady's go-to-receiver. He runs great routes and has sure hands.

Think he gets an extension this off season? Should get him while he's cheap...1 mil a year for 4 years...I could go for that.

I'd like to see the Pats extend Gaffney and Caldwell - keep each here for the next 3 years. Seems do-able.

their receiving core is only going to get stronger also. like the rest of the team they've been able to transition that position much like d-line was from the first superbowl, and even the secondary.

I think the original report in October was that he was signed to a 2 year deal (maybe 1 year with an option?).

Either way, in the wake of the Branch/Givens departures, I'd like to see them both extended now on the cheap.

JG is only RETURNING to what he previously was able to do. Expanded somewhat by playing for a winning rather than expansion club. It doesn't take rocket science to think a young, uninjured, high pick, (proving he has the triangle), who has proved he can transition to NFL speed, would prove to be a good addition.

The puzzle is with the other 31 GMs...
