Cool The players to have a big game for the NE are...

Kevin Faulk and Maroney. They will Beat the Chargers with their own weapon: a RB who can catch the ball. Then no problem with Merryman...

Faulk : 9 rec. 91py and a TD. He's our best receiver.
Maroney: 122ry and a TD.

DO you remember Freeney with his big number of sacks and how everobody talked of him before the game? He was a non-factor.

THe blitzing Jets? NO Problem.

THe bears? Easy one

Merriman? HE will be neutralized easily.

Coachs : Bill Belichik vs SD coach. Easily BB
and I feel like the SD are intimidated by The Patriots. They fears the Patriots more than the Patriots fears to lose. The Patriots knows they can win every game like this , they know how to win. The Chargers , we dont know...

I fear that Antonio Gates can destroy The Patriots. He will be The biggest problem.

But, Look To Watson, That kind of game that can placed him with star...

Maybe a high score game....

Fight fire with fire!

I'm not nearly as confident as you - and I favor the Chargers by a little - but I do like the predictably blitz heaviness of the Charger defense. We can't block those guys all day but Brady is good against the blitz and should be able to get rid of the ball quick enough most of the time.

To say Merrimen will be neutralized easy is retarted,The man is a monster pass rusher and we could not handle Jason Taylor who is the only other the monster pass rushing LB we have played so put away the homie hat and come to reality,Merrimen will be a force and the O-Line will have its hands full all game,I say he sacks or has a sack assist on Brady at least once if not more,he may not be a reason for win or loss, but he will be a factor, bank on it - And that comes from a diehard Patriots fan like me.

Sincerly and strangely I Hope that SD will Blitz often early in the game. Brady/Faulk on the screenplay are maybe the best duo in the NFL. Troy Brown is good also to read the blitz and find the good palce to catch the ball.

And Imagine when Maroney after some tries will find the small hole. Just one time, and i predict that he will run for a long one. Blitz can burn you.

Please don't compare Merriman to Jason Taylor! YOU are Atterded!

Merriman will not have the time to arrived to TOm Brady that the ball will be go!

BB have said one time that number of sacks say nothing if you cant stop the run. No team in the NFL are well balanced like the Patriots. They beat you with every aspect of the game. And they will completely confuse the SD DEF.

Merriman will be EASILY neutralised. Don't Panic in the beginning of the game. At the end he will not be a factor.

the key thing to remember with any standout defensive player whether that be Merriman, Seymour, or whoever.......they CAN all be neutralized but at what cost?

sure, go ahead and put 3 blockers on the other teams defensive star but then what happens to the rest of your blocking scheme and offense? Not to take anything away form Ty Warren but is it not reasonable to say that part of his sucess this year was due to the attention teams pay to Seymour? Same thing goes for S. Phillips on the Chargers. He is a good player but has the luxury of playing on the opposite side of Merriman who teams key on.

Except we're not like other teams.. Guys like the Jets need to send 7 guys to have a successful blitz... We don't even need to blitz you guys to take Brady down.. Castillo/Olshansky/Williams/Merriman/Edwards/Godfrey/Phillips.. We'll only need to send 2-3 of those guys and Brady will be under enormous pressure.

I look forward to watching the vaunted San Diego two-man rush on Sunday.
