Default Reche Caldwell faces his former team that gave up on him...

Caldwell had his best season as a pro for the Pats this year and I'm sure he will want to show the Chargers that they gave up on him pre-maturely. The Pats go-to-guy changes almost every week. Last week it was Gaffney (who has proven to be a great pick-up and seems to have found a home in New England), this week it could be Caldwell. With that said, I hope Harrison is able to play against his former team as well. What a game Sunday will be. Can't wait!

phillips was on sirius radio today and they asked him about caldwell...he seemed to have alot of respect for him and said that he was one of the best atheletes on the team while he was in SD but that only his ACL kept him back...had alot of good things to say..maybe we really did find a gem in caldwell...hes really impressing me

He show some flashes here and there. But drops and crucial fumbles were what showed him the door in San Diego. I don't think the Chargers were premature in letting him go. He had a lot of chances. I always though if he could hold on the ball and stop putting it on the ground he'd be a solid WR.

I'm sure that every player that is let go from a team wants to prove the old team wrong. That being said, if you want to go down the road of trying to quantify the degree of "disrespect" (a slippery one at best) I'd guess that Rodney's release, (given the years of great service), to Caldwell's up and down years, creates the greater hurt, and/or retribution factor.
