Default I don't understand

Why is it if a defender on the opposing team steps up and makes a solid defensive play, the play becomes a bad call from the OC???

Example: The quick throw to Chad Jackson. The safety stepped up and layed the smackdown on CJ. Wow what a great defensive play? Nope, McD stinks and that play should never have been called.

Question: What would have happened if the safety mis-played the throw (human players actually make mistakes and miss tackles) and CJ gets around the saftey? Who is going to stop CJ from the endzone?

Answer: In theory, CJ has an open footrace for the endzone. More likley, CJ uses his speed for a good gain. It is certainly not a bad call by the OC. It is a great play on the ball by a defender.

The call was fine, we've had many good plays like that with our WR making the first guy miss. A bad throw ruined the possibility of that.

It is silly. Not every play an OC calls is going to work...and he shouldn't be roasted on a spit when it doesn't.

IMO, it was the combination of the ball getting there a little late and the DB stepping up to make the play. They've run the same play to others like Troy in the slot and they've made the 1st guy miss and gotten yards out of it. It just goes to show that execution of a play is more important than the pay call itself.

It was Brady's fault. We should bench him.

You're going to find another excuse to fling monkey poo now, I suppose.

Is that play a play that never works, or are they setting it up? What will happen when Brady pumps at Chad, the DB bites on the fake, and Chad is running free in the secondary? Chad has issues, but that play hasn't worked all year and eventually they will suck the corner in and hit on a long one with it.
