Default How much longer Belichick coaches

If you watched FSNE over Thanksgiving, Tom Curren predicts, that maybee this is Bill Belichick's last yr.. and I think Dickerson came on and said the big story next yr will be Charlie Weis will be the next head coach of the new england patriots.. pure speculation I guess, but how much longer does he coach, technically this is his last yr under contract that we know about, so how long??

I don't see any reason that he'd quit. If he does, though, forget Weis - NEM for Head Coach.

Anyone but Pete Carroll again if Bill leaves...That guy sucks as an NFL Head Coach - Good in NCAA - Blows in the NFL

I didn't vote because I think he'll coach for more than any of the choices listed. I think he loves what he's doing and he would feel empty without the thrill of coaching a football team.

If that happens I'm moving to Arizona.

Seriously, I think BB will be here at least as long as Brady.

Do we actually know BB's contract situation? I would think that Bob Kraft has taken care of him rather well as he is a businessman first and knows how he has increased the value of his franchise. I suspect that even if he does stop coaching, he will be in some position to navigate the direction of this franchise, everything I hear is how much he loves what he does.

I say he has a few more years at least.

Here's a thread talking about his passion for the game from last week:

If he was gone after this year he would have thrown a boat load of money at Branch to try to win it all this year. Every thing he has done is set up for the long run.

BB's coaching idols are Paul Brown and Don Shula. He's a lifer, and longevity in a single program is something he admires, the true goal of a great coach. Another dozen years sounds about right.

I can't see him retiring in the foreseeable future. He clearly enjoys what he is doing far too much.
