...for the fact that they all EMIGRATED. Good bloody riddance (apart from Ian and the moderators, on the right side of whom I need to stay).
As for treacherous Yorkshiremen, who now live in MA.....

Seriously, enjoy your turkey, guys, and leave me enough for my Christmas dinner.

Isn't that a Christmas GOOSE, g-cat ?

Anyway, thank you kindly.
I've long appreciated my brave and desperate forebears who risked so much
for their freedom and opportunity ... and mine !

You too enjoy your fowl of choice.

Remember, if you love the USA, thank a Frenchman. If not for France in the Revolutionary War, you would be having tea and crumpets for lunch and be enjoying Fish and Chips every holiday. You're welcome.

Perfectly true.
As an avid student of the original patriots' Saratoga campaign, i'm in no danger of forgetting.

But hasn't that debt been long ago repaid ... with interest?

Tea and crumpets? For lunch? Honestly, old chap, that does not befit an Englishman for his lunch. One should eat something more substantial so that one is able to run an Empire and keep those damned colonials and Froggies in their place, what?

The Brits have several problems. Food is well down the list behiind music and hygiene.

That's all fine and good as long as everyone on both sides of the channel remember that without the wayward colonies, both countries would be lunching on knockwurst and strudel.
