My eyes will once again be focused on the D-Line. In particular: Brace, Gerard Warren, Damione Lewis, and Deaderick. The last of those names I thought looked pretty decent in the first Thursday night game. Sure he has quite a bit to build on, but if he keeps working hard, he may just have a starting DE of the future.
Ditto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!! I also want to see more of the DBs, particulary Butler and Chung.

On defense, I want to see how the "surprise" guys in the front seven do for a second week. Warren, Murrell, and Spikes all looked pretty good, or at least had good moments that are encouraging in areas of need. I want to see if they continue that, or whether it was just a one week fluke.
Same deal on offense with Connolly, but I'd also like to see Tate get more involved. He had the one nice grab against the Saints, but I want to see him get a couple so we get a better idea what he can do.
On ST, I want to see more good returns out of McCourty and Edelman. Can't get enough of those.
LDE: Gerard Warren/Ron Brace/Kade Weston NT: Vince Wilfork/Myron Pryor/Kyle Love RDE: Mike Wright/Brandon Deaderick/Darryl Richard
Veteran Damione Lewis, a backup at left defensive end in the preseason opener, is not expected to play. The status of Pryor, who left Tuesday afternoon's practice with a hand injury, will also be important to monitor.
LT: Matt Light/Mark LeVoir/Brian Simmons LG: Dan Connolly/Eric Ghiaciuc/Ted Larsen C: Dan Koppen/Ryan Wendell RG: Stephen Neal/Rich Ohrnberger RT: Sebastian Vollmer/Thomas Welch
The interior backups -- Ghiaciuc, Larsen, Wendell and Ohrnenberger -- should rotate between left guard, center and right guard once entering the game.
Good stuff, thank you. I'd like to see Brace do well enough to earn some time with the 1's in week 3. I like Mike Wright, but feel he's much more effective as a sub-package pass rushing lineman. I feel like Brace has the build to be a better run stuffer.
Wilfork if he moved to DE, but that move is truly ridiculous.
You have a top 5 NT and youve just paid him as such. His body is suited for the middle with the extra weight Wilfork is carrying. Plus, you just created a hole at NT since no other NE player can play the position as good as VW.

Very true, but I wouldn't mind seeing more fumble and INT returns myself.

I'll be watching the trainers. Hopefully they won't get any work tomorrow.
The 2nd and 4th preseason games are fairly useless (which is why the 18 game regular season is going to happen). I don't expect to really learn anything new tomorrow. I'm glad they are holding back folks (Bodden, Cunningham, etc.) and hopefully getting them ready for PS #3...where you want to get a feel for real game planning, situational groupings and more realistic play calling.
Since Burgess wasn't there for the Saints, it will be nice seeing him out there for at least a few snaps.
