Default Will both the OL and DL be the Pat's best ever?

The DL talent is excellent and deep. The injuries to the OL last year created perhaps the deepest line in the league, enough so that a tackle who started in the Super Bowl only two years ago was expendable.

With all the talk about Branch and LB depth, this could be the most important factor in the team's success this year.

This may not be the most important topic for all the band-wagon *****es....buit it's true. The game is won in the trenches. This may be the best O-line and D-line-we'll see how we do. We have great depth at these positions too. We may not be as flashy for the bandwagoners and red sox fans but we will dominate up front and hopefully :

1. teach Rothlisbooger that he's lucky to be alive and have the SB ring he stole from TB after the Denver bus ran us over

2. Make Peyton cry again

3. Make Cowher's jaw fall off

Nobody likes to get robbed.
Payback is a *****-and it won't be pretty

I think D-line is the best ever. The O-Line with Hannah-Gray and Pete Brock was pretty darned good back in the 70's. Don't we still hold some rushing records ?

welcome aboard. this may shock you but many here want to claim that this DL is not deep and not the best bcs it is only a 3 man front. i doubt they will address this thread, but there has been a press all preseason to "deepen a shallow DL." of course, they havnt opened their mouths as of late, but i agree that this DL is great and deep.

If the Pats go to situational 4-3, can you imagine the possibilities ? Seymour-Warren-Wilfork-Green, or Seymour -Sullivan-Wilfork-Warren. Seymour was drafted as a DT, so can you imagine him reining havoc in the middle with Wilfork, with pass rushing specialist Green and Warren coming from the outside. Warren may be one of the best run stopping DE's in the game. Seymour may be the best D-Lineman in the game, period. Wilfork has been rated in the top 3 NT's in the game. Add possibly Sullivan on the inside, or Seymour. On passing downs, rush 4, plus Colvin & Vrabel from the outside, pretty scary for opposing offenses.

C'mon 99, quit forgetting your jersey buddy.

The OLine is young and damn good, let's leave it at that.

Hard to compare a 3 to a 4 man line, but this DL is young and the skies the limit!

These guys were pretty good too. Larry Eisenhauer, Bob Dee, Houston Antwine, Jim Lee Hunt.

I believe we hold the all time season rushing record and that was without a 1,000 yard rusher.

I'm going on memory here, so bombs away if I have my facts wrong.

D-line yes. O-line no. Maybe in another year.

Yeah, that O-line was ridiculous. I remember hearing of one preseason game where Fairbanks told them he was going to call the same running play (a basic little off-guard inside run) until they scored a touchdown, and once they did, they could leave the game.

One eight-play drive later, they were in the end zone.

Think about that ... that is one crazy-good O-line to be able to do that ...

This O-line is a good group, but they can't touch that 70s line.

The D-line I think could be the best, though. I can't think of one better, and Seymour could be the best Pats defensive lineman ever, imo.
