The Patriots have waived rookie defensive back Gemara Williams.
Williams, from the University of Buffalo, had been in his second stint with the team. He initially was signed May 8, before being let go on July 25. He was re-signed on Aug. 12.
The 23-year-old Williams saw most of his practice time on special teams. He didn't play in Saturday night's preseason game against the Cardinals.
