Quote:
Lerner to take control of Villa
Aston Villa have announced to the Stock Exchange a deal with Randy Lerner for the American billionaire to take control of the Premiership club.
Four consortia had been linked with the Midland outfit but Lerner has won the battle for control with a £62.6m bid.

Background info:
Bob Kraft was rumoured to be interested in Villa around a year or so ago. Kraft has been more strongly attached, according to the papers, with an investment in, BUT NOT complete takeover of, Liverpool Murderers FC.
Browns owner, Lerner, was seriously considering a bid for weeks now.
Aston Villa is Birmingham's most successful and highest profile soccer club.
Malcolm Glazer and his family, of course, control Manchester United.
