Default Michael Holley and Rodney Harrison/ Don Banks and Pats WR corp

I was trying to remember, in the AFC Champ. game against Indy Rodney gave his pick to Holley in the stands right? The reason I was asking was I was wondering if the two were friends? Holley today said that he expected Rodney to not do much at all in TC but expected him to start the opener. Alot of the speculation is that he'd go on the PUP list. Might be wishful thinking but could Holley have inside info on Rodney's progression.

Also, Don Banks was on EEI as a fill in for Arnold and talked about how he believed the Pats WRs would have another player before opening day. He dodged Holley's follow-up by saying that SI was his master and Holley asked if he had any inside info. He said he wouldn't say anything until the Pats opened camp but he said he believed they would be addding another WR. He didn't make it sound like it would be just some guy off the street and mentioned Lelie's name. I hope it's not.

I guess any Pats talk nowadays is welcome on the radio.

If Bioli wants Lelie, than I'm fine with it. We need somebody, IMHO. I wouldn't mind seeing somebody outcompete everybody except Branch, and upcoming player of the future, Jackson.

For reasons already discussed at this site, it is not likely to be Lelie. But I would welcome any help to get back into the hunt this year. We could always dump him next year when he officially starts whining to the Pats about his contract.

You are right about that. There was a lot of freaking speculation on this board. I have said right along that Rodney will play in the first Reg Season game.

And, it didn't matter what we did not see in TC or Pre Season games.

Does anyone think that Rodney needs to play in Pre Season games or take part in contact drills in TC?

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the Patriots are looking to bring a veteran into camp to fill out a thin WR corps.

This strikes me as a "the sun will rise tomorrow" type prediction designed to make a national reporter sound like he's an expert on a local team.

I like Banks but expect when it comes to inside info on the Patriots, our local reporters are much better plugged in than he is.

True, although I can't imagine Bioli would be too pleased with the bag of worms (Sullivan) the Saints brass sent us. I wonder if Sullivan's gun/drug issue now makes the Pats' honchos less trustworthy of the folks in New Orleans.

They'd have to be stupid to feel that way, and they're not stupid.

They can't blame NO for what they got in Sullivan anymore than the Saints could blame them if Bethel doesn't grasp the offense down there.

Each team is responsible for their own due diligence. There was plenty of evidence of Sullivan's problems and they had to have been more than aware of it.
