Ok, since we are listing every kind of imaginable team, how about a team comprised of underappreciated or oft forgotten Patriots who were good solid players yet not elite ones.
Rules are:
Decent starters in their prime, but not elite caliber
obscure in the sense that they were/are underappreciated or just forgotten
Were once Patriots
I'm thinking:
QB: In my time, I guess Hugh Millen would qualify, but there has to be someone in older times that would be a better fit.
RB: John Stevens or Robert Edwards
FB: Kevin Turner or Sam Gash
TE: Marv Cook or Jermaine Wiggins
WR: Terry Glenn (He gets no love anymore, but I think he was actually pretty good on the field), David Patten
OG: Joe Andruzzi
C: Dave Walebaugh (sp???)
DT: Brandon Mitchell, Eaton
DE: Bobby Hamilton
LB: Marty Moore
CB: Otis Smith

I have to call you on this one as I think you must have watched some different Patriots games. He had one of the best rookie seasons that I ever saw a Patriot have, then the wheels came of after Parcells left. IMO
You need to look up the definition of 'obscure' - Glenn, Stevens, Edwards & O.T.I.S. for example are not
John "Stevens" is definitely obscure.
Following a Pro Bowl rookie season in 1988, in the 1989 Earthquake game at Stanford U against the 49ers, "Stevens" partially paralyzed Niners safety Jeff Fuller. I think that affected "Stevens". He was never the same player after that game. BTW, the Pats lost 37-20.

One more reason John "Stevens" should be in the "obscure" category...
It's Stephens, not "Stevens"!!!
Other obscure RBs: Don Calhoun, Vegas Ferguson, and one of my personal faves, Robert Weathers.
Umm, anyone who started at running back and had a 1,000 yard season is probably not obscure. For example, ten years from now, perhaps Mike Wright will be obscure. Jarvis Green will not be.
None of the guys you name as running backs are obscure. I have vivid memories of watching all. Scott Lockwood=obscure. Don Calhoun, a critical piece of many great Pats teams IS NOT.
Here is my all obscure team for guys who were on the roster for at least a bit of time:
QB: Jeff Carlson
RB: Allen Clark
FB: Mario Grier
WR: Carlos Pennywell
WR: Don Westbrook
TE: Lovett Purnell
OT: J.R. Conrad
OT: Larry Tharpe
OG: Lance Scott
OG: Reggie Redding
C: Juan Porter
DE: Mike Pitts
NT: Pio Sagapulitelli (yeah, he started, I like the name)
DE: Jon Hand
LB: Richard Harvey
LB: Rich McKenzie
LB: Dwayne Sabb
LB: Ron Merkeson
CB: Dyshod Carter
CB: Leonard Myers
S: Myron Guyton
S: Arturo Freeman
K: Scott Sisson
P: Eddie Hare

I have vivid memories of Scott Missin' Sisson, Dwayne Sabb #95 (from UNH), Eddie Hare (a gosh-awful punter from 1979), Myron Guyton (one of Tuna's Jints refugees who started on the Jints SBXXV championship team), Reggie Redding (the Tuna's "brooktrout" boy), Pio Sagapuletele (NT who played with BB in Cleveland), Mike Pitts (a former 1st round pick from the Atlanta Falcons and a starter on Buddy Ryan's Eagles teams), and Jeff Carlson (in 1992, the last starting QB to don Pat Patriot as his normal uniform and I'm guessing, the only lefty QB to start for the Pats?). So I guess they're NOT obscure either.
Umm, see just how subjective "obscure" can be?

In my opinion, John Stevens is obscure. He only had one good season, so if you didn't watch the pats that year, you probably don't even know who he is. At the same time, he was one of the few bright spots that year. Everyone knew we were going to hand the ball off to him, yet they still could rarely stop him for a loss. His "both hands on the ball all the time" carrying style was interesting.
Instead of debating about the subjective obscurity of other choices, I encourage everyone to pitch in their "All obscure" team.
I commend you for adding a detailed team list... you came up with a lot more than I was able to.
Whoever said Shawn Jefferson... good one. I totally forgot about him and he was a solid starter... the perfect candidate for this list IMO.
