I am not going to sit here and defend Chad as looking like the next coming because I cant say that I ever thought that but I think it would be revisionist to not say you were a little excited about chad that first season and training camp then nothing ever happened. I would like to think that Tate has shown more than enough to not be on this road but its also just 6 practices.
Well, I think thats the point. We were all excited about Jacksons potential. Thats what you are describing. It never made it to the field, but when I read these reports, it sounds like Jacksons potential reaching the field, as Tate.

Again, my enthusiasm about Chad was sky high at the draft. Loved the pick. Obviously nobody would pay me to draft anyone. But from the FIRST time I saw him as a Patriot, season one in camp, he showed that he was a stiff. Shocking.

I am talking TC with Chad too when I got an up close look but I cant remember if anything other than his speed impressed.

At least with tate I can say that he really seems to create seperation with some shifty moves and his ability to get open is what is exciting me.

You're right about separation with Tate. He ran patterns with multiple breaks got WAY open and several of the catches woulda been easy TDs. VERY impressive.

The only guy who ever looked as good was The Twig in his rookie camp. You could see that HE was special, but The Twig was special because of Welker like quick cuts. Tate is a deep threat. Fast and fluid. VERY special.

Most reports are saying that Tate has looked like the best player on the field other then #81. So it is going to be headaches for defenses all year, especially once Welker is back. I don't know how you are going to stop all three of them. Randy was right when he said the sky is the limit earlier this offseason.

Don't worry, I just saw a picture of Rex Ryan and it's gone now.

Tate may be a late bloomer. Because of his knee injury, he missed the Combine workouts, but he has serious speed, supposedly a low 4.3 sec 40. He also set the NCAA kickoff + punt return yardage record, which suggests he's both elusive and decisive as well. But the hands, leaping ability, and crisp route running are a pleasant surprise, because as a receiver he was overshadowed at NC by Hakeem Nicks. Maybe a coaching mistake there, maybe just he's finding himself now. It will certainly be fun to watch him this preseason.

Most people claim he was the number one option at NC before blowing out his knee.
