Lightbulb Is A Holdout By Brady Coming?

Ian's Daily Blog - ESPNBoston.com’s Tim Graham reported on Monday that there may be trouble on the horizon with just a little over a week to go until training camp begins, and it could involve quarterback Tom Brady holding out when the team comes together at Gillette Stadium next week.

I deff don't see Brady holding out, it will get done. The whole season is in the pooper if he does. They said they were worried about vinces empty answer. He's just towing the company line and having respect for Tom not to contribute the addition of airing out Tom's business.

Or he really doesn't have a good feeling about it. Regardless, the mere threat of a holdout by Brady should open the wallet IMMEDIATELY.

The only thing we can know is that we don't know what's really going on, Clayton et al aside.

That said, I know I'll be in a minority here for saying that I wouldn't blame Brady for holding out. Why risk injury at Training Camp if he isn't convinced that things are moving along towards getting a deal with Guarantees done? I believe that he has earned the right to go into the 2010 Season with a deal.

See this is where the media has really lost control of its self.

I heard the VInce interview last week and to infer anything out of that about Brady would be ridiculous.

His comments totally came off as someone who just went thru it himself and that he by no way wanted to make any comment on the situation good or bad it just was not his place to say.

Hypathetical: Lets assume Vince knows for a fact Brady is gonna show up why would vince throw Tom under the bus in case Tom was planning on threating a holdout even if he had no plans to follow thru.

I hardly read Vince's words as "the company line." But, since neither of us know what's going on, you're interpretation is as good as mine.

As for the whole season being in the crapper if Tommy holds out for some or all of Training Camp to get a deal done? Nah. That might have been true five years ago, but not now. Tommy, like Favre, can show up any time he wants and be ready to play.

It's always fun to speculate when we have absolutely no idea of what is really going on since any of us could be right, but this kind of story would be consistent with someone in Brady's camp stirring the pot a bit. It's also consistent with people talking out their asses. So, who knows?

If Brady wants to hold out why the hell did he show up to OTAs a few weeks ago?

Graham is the first one I've read in terms of reporters that have any credibility that I'd actually believe to report it, so that alone was enough to make me wonder if it's actually a real possibility. Vince's comments last week were pretty vague, but listening to the interview again from their archives this morning - I just wish he had come out and made it seem like less of a possibility.

Obviously I'm with the majority who believe they'll find a way to get a deal done to keep him here. But after Graham's article I'm starting to wonder if it's really possible that he'll hold out. Missing practice - especially with a lot of the young guys they have coming in - definitely wouldn't be a good thing.
