Problem for me is the early session. I'd be driving south all along 495 and I expect it's an unpredictable delay traffic jam.

8/10 would be a good day to give yourself a break.

Questions for people who have attended:

What time slot is better? Morning practice or afternoons?

Do they sign autographs? If so, when (beginning or end) and what time would you recommend showing up? (Probably very early)

I might make the trip to see a practice with my friend next month.

With so many first and second-year players, this will be the most interesting and important training camp for many years.

I'll be grateful for any and every report posted!

I am back at work this year so I wont be going to 90% like last year but I have taken a few days off work to ensure I can get a good early look at the team.

I will try and attend all of the first 4 days of practice and then it is back to work. I also took the day off for when the Saints will be in town (and I am really excited for that one).

Other than that I will try and get to as many as I can the rest of the way though my hours couldn't be worse for getting there 9:30 to 6. I will go on the weekends but that only is a couple more on top of what I can do already.

I will be sure to post my notes from any session I attend.

Things generally havent changed much from year to year but you never know. But here are my answers based on my past experiences.

Time Slot - I would say morning tends to be cooler but there is no guarentees they will be in pads in the morning or afternoon they generally take the pads off after a few tougher practices so there isnt always a way to be sure.

Autographs - are the last session of the practice and they generally do it positionally though Moss and Brady and other stars may sign during other positions. You have a decent shot at getting a autograph but no guarentee.

As far as when to show up - This I think depends on how big a group and what you are looking for. if you want a seat at mid field and close up or you want to sit in a big group you should so up around 30 min to an hour early. I live in Foxboro and I tend to shoot down by myself and I dont leave until the scheduled start time and just squezze in where I can (usually find a seat in the bleachers). For some of the practices it can get quite full but not to full where you cant find a spot either on the hill or bleachers.

Other notes - they do sell some of the stadium food and slightly cheaper but they also allow you to bring your own food and drink if you want (I wouldn't try to bring a ridiculously big cooler or anything but you can bring food and drink so I imagine a small hand held cooler would be ok).

Parking is free and attendance is free.

Check the weather because they can go inside if it rains

I'm thinking of heading down that first day. I've never been and my schedule works out that that might be a very good day for me to go for it. Any advice? I'm thinking of going to the first session; coming from the North Shore, I figure I'll head out pretty early to beat the commuter traffic, sit in the lot and read until opening time. I do wonder if it'll be a total CF because it's opening day; maybe the fact it's a weekday will keep it from being too crowded?

Autographs are hit or miss, 2 years ago was my first time going up, and I didn't get anyone. They sent around back-up o-line guys who signed a handful of things. Last year I got Vince Wilfork & Jarvis Green, who must have at least signed for over 100 people each, so you never know.
