What makes Anderson a special receiver is his combination of size and speed. He is 6-5 and can outrun a whole lot of other receivers in this class who are smaller than him. He may have a few things to work on, but Anderson should be a second or third round selection if he has decent workouts leading up to the draft.
Positives: Underrated receiver who does not get the credit he?s due. Big bodied wide out who uses his frame as advantage, comes back to the ball out of breaks and make himself an available target. Consistently extends his hands to make the reception away from his frame. Makes the difficult catch in a crowd and shows strength running after the catch. Above average route runner and displays sharpness into breaks then stays low on exit. Gets vertical over defenders and fights to grab the errant throw.
Negatives: More of a long strider and lacks a quick burst. Has lapses in concentration on occasion.
Analysis: Anderson has been consistently productive on the college level and is flying under the radar screens of NFL scouts. He's been compared by some to San Diego Charger receiver Vincent Jackson in size and style. Anderson is likely to fall out of the draft yet could be a big surprise in camp this summer and eventually develop into a fourth receiver on the NFL level.
Bryan's UB stats are: 8 receptions for 95 yards and 1 td with a long gain of 15 yards. His 5 game totals are 21 receptions for 264 yards averaging 52.8 yards a game. He averages 12.6 yards a catch with a long play of 42 yards and one TD. Brian is usually a split end, but will line up in the slot occasionally. He is a long strider with good but not great speed. He is a big target on slant passes and does a good job of pushing off defenders and running 20 yard comebacks and 10-12 yard hooks. I project his 40 yard dash speed at approximately 4.7. He is a bit awkward and loses his balance after the catch when driving for extra yardage. He is not cat quick but appears to have good initial takeoff using long strides. His feet narrow at times and he stumbles some when being tackled. He is a good stalk blocker and gives excellent effort on his blocks. He will throw his body at defenders. His key asset is his size and he runs excellent patterns. He is definitely a possession receiver and not a deep threat. He reminds me of Joe Jurivicious who played with the Giants, Bucs, Seahawks and Browns. He has good hands, but at times his hand quickness seemed marginal. At times he looks like a waist bender on his blocks. I think that because of his size, durability and his excellent route running he would be a mid round draft choice going between rounds 4 and 6. His overall speed is a factor as only the real quick or fast receivers go high. If he runs well in off-season workouts his stock may rise. He is a good receiver in this offense. He leads the nation in number of games to have caught a pass in a row with 44.
