I would think that to facilitate a trade the Bills would have to allow his agent to discuss a contract with another team before the deal is done
Its really a question of how long a contract Moulds demands. His bonus money from the Bill's inflates his contract to @$10 mil this season but he knows he's not getting that if he gets cut - he's probably more in the $6-$7 mil range if you ask me
...and he's worth it - as long as his skills hold out. I'd prefer a 2 year contract but Moulds will probably demand more.
Between signing Moulds, getting Josh Brown signed to a poison pill RFA tender, and maybe moving up in the draft to 15 to grab a player before Miami and Dallas - I'd say we'd move to the front of the pack of the offseason "winners" - especially if we extend Seymour and Branch on top of it!
If I were a betting man I'd say the odds are we do none of the above. Best outside chance we move up a few in the draft if a player we really like is dropping. As for Moulds he'd be a tough sign in this market even if he's released, and at 33 it would be tough to sign him at a value price. He's apparently due $7M this season, and if he wants anything approaching that range even a 2-3 year deal with him would drastically impact any Branch extension because BB isn't likely to carry two WR at #1 money. We offered Mason around 4/$20M before losing him to the Ravens last March, and he was 2 years younger.
There are reportedly 4 teams interested as a trade, there would be a few more in it as FA no doubt. Sounds like Texas has the early inside track:

Don't you think Moulds would be tickled ... by a s/b of 9 mil
plus 2 years of minimum sals
with a third year at, say, 4-5 mil?
His agent trumpets that he gets 5 million a year.
We have him for a cap cost like Dillon's.
If he has only two years of speed, it would have cost us almost 4 1/2 mil against the cap each year,
with dead money of 3 million down the road.
I think this leaves decent room for Deion. (After all, our big cap space exists only to be spent!)
Forget Moulds I just saw on the 11 O'Clock news that he wants to go to Philly to play with McNabb. Seems like nobody has any interest in playing for the Patriots.
Moulds current deal calls for hefty salaries in 2006 and 2007:
2006 6,089,000.00
2007 7,250,000.00
I'm sure BB wouldn't do a trade unless he already had Moulds agreeing to a new deal that paid a lot less than that. They din't want to give Givens too much because of how it'd affect signing Branch.
Walker is only signed thru 2006 at 1,150,000.00 for the year. But, I would think they'd want to make a new deal before they gave a Rnd 2 or 3 for him also. Supposedly GB wants a 2 and BB wants to give up his 2nd rd rnd pick.
Maybe they'll comprimise and use the Pats early 3rd rnd pick. It's 11 higher.
Walker is younger, too.
