Default Breer says Patriots could regret passing on Boldin

Will Boldin be the one who got away? - Extra Points - Boston.com

I think Boldin could still be a big play guy in the right offense, but his injury history and up a little in age makes me dissagree that he would have been a savior to this offense as Breer would think.

"He’s the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. He goes from being a rookie that nobody is expecting anything from, to taking over with people saying he can’t do it, to winning three Super Bowls....It should already be obvious he’s the greatest quarterback to ever have played. "

We are where we are because in part due getting older piece in instead of drafting them for 3 yrs before last year.

I think brady is going to resign and its time to think long term and say we need players who can be good for 5-6 yrs of his career not bandage fix for a yr or so.

look at peyton garcon, collie and to a level the 1st pick WR from 2-3 yrs are going to be with him till the end of his career. wayne is the only older guy who will fade towards the end of peyton career.

brady has moss who is in the back 9 and wes who is injured. its time to develop some guys.

We have work to do but we had more draft picks last year than most teams so we will get better based on those players presumably taking a step up and we also have more draft picks than most this year. Plus FA is still early.

Why would we care what Drew Brees has to think about Boldin. Shouldn't he just enjoy his Lombardi Trophy and stay out of our business?!?

Seriously, I would have loved to had Boldin, but the guy comes with a lot of risk. He has chronic hamstring problems, other injuries, and plays with reckless abandonment. WRs like that can flame out pretty fast.

Two years from now, the Ravens could be the ones regretting winning out for Boldin's services. Then again, he could be a perenial Pro Bowler too. It is a gamble with a lot of upside and downside.

I hate this media hype.

Next well know Peppers was the fish that got away, and Dansby.

That's not really true, if you subscribe to the theory that young players generally improve as their careers progress.
