Is getting older and his best days are far behind him. When BB signs vets his age for a backup role they usually dont make it out of camp.

Default Marques Douglas

Now that green is gone he seems like a logical fit.
Sources say the pats are interested.

Any chance pats may have a deal in place but want more fa's off the board before they sign him to hinder the jets from signing a decent free agent?

no....if the pats sign him, then the jets can sign a FA.......if the jets don't want him, the pats would not want to help them

I'd sign Dewayne White, DE, Lions as a rotational DE.

tanked, this logic only works if the Pats are likely the only team to sign him. Otherwise, if the FO thinks he would help the team, they should sign him and not worry about what it does for the Jets. Because if the Pats FO thinks he is good enough to sign, there is a good chance that other teams will and how does it help the team if they don't sign him and some other team does? Then the Pats have missed signing a good FA yet the Jets still have the same benefit as if the Pats had signed him.

Two different positions. Douglas is a DE in a 3-4 and Ellis is an OLB.

As for Douglas, he would be a good rotational guy. Would be a bit concerned if he was a starter though. Rotate him with Mike Wright or someone they drafted, then I could see it as a good move.

From what I hear he and Wright would compliment eachother as Wright is the better rusher and Douglas the better run stopper.
