Wait until everyone is retired. Then debate on
Although if they could have finished out 19-0 (I still cringe at the thought of this) then yeah, I say it's a hard sell on anyone but Brady
Unfortunately our boy hasn't been flawless in some time
Some time ? Are you on crack ?
1. 2007 - - lets see SB 42 he leads them to go ahead TD, and only a lucky catch and brickhands Asante take away his 4-4 SB record
2. 2008 - - out injured all year after barely playing one quarter for the season
3. 2009 - - recovers to comeback and play at a high level. Yes, an up and down year,
but to call him "hasn't been flawless in some time" is beyond idiotic

That's what I was thinking.

Sometimes they are not always at the No. 1 position, but I don’t think you pass up good football players to get the guys who aren’t as good just because they’re at a position that somebody feels you need.”

Please try and step back from being a Pats fan and look at things logically.
He's phenomenal but he hasn't won a SB since 2004 (STOP RIGHT THERE)
I don't want to here but he did this, or his defense let him down or he led the team to what could have been the game winning drive.
20 years from now nobody is going to say it could have been more, they will just look at what is.

16-0, 50TDs, 23TDs for Moss, offensive scoring record, those are all legitimate accomplishments for this team. If it didn't have other rings this decade, sure, it'd be hollow. But it's time for us all to let go of how the SB ended, and move on. 2007 was as successful a season can be without a ring. The team did something no other team in history has done, which is win all 16 games. If anything, the Colts cowardice should make us feel even better about the achievement.
The Patriots have nothing to be ashamed of for SB 42. There weren't a lot of possessions in that game, and really, both sides of the ball did the job needed to win the game, the Giants just made ONE play. And that one play - as often is the case in a Super Bowl - was the difference. The Giants get paid to play this game, too. Time to move on. I look back at 2007 as a success now more than ever for this team and for Brady and Belichick's legacy. The Colts game gave us some needed closure on this decade.

I didn't say there was a legitimate argument against Tom Brady as greatest of the decade. It's not even close
However when you look back at his career, unless he win another 1 or 2 then he will fall short of QBs that came before him

Two things about this:
1) You're right, there's no reason to think Brady is declining given his injury.
2) Not calling someone "flawless" shouldn't be a slight (even if it was intended to be one in this case). We need to stop expecting our athletes to be perfect, no matter who they are.
