At least 3 starting quality players. They dont have to come in and start but the should be able to come in and make an impact.

Well, _I_ can count to two unlike SOME people here ...

PS Mayo, to address your earlier point, I considered making one of the choices "have a killer draft" but I decided that was too vague so I tried to define what constitutes a killer draft and that was the best I could come up. Sorry, I tried.

They need to draft young, hungry, starting calliber players. Create a base to build upon in 2010 and beyond. Whether it be a guy to compliment Mayo inside, a beast at OLB/DE, or a WR that scares the living hell out of opposing teams, they need someone who will start their NFL career as a Patriot. They can't afford to get veterans all the time to fill the holes. To compliment the team and provide serviceable reps, sure. But not as long term answers. All the great coaching in the world can't make up for lack of talent. Even if you're BB.

I basically agree with that as the most important priority. BTW if I could have added one more choice to the poll (the limit is 10) it would have been "resign their own free agents". Maybe I should have combined linebackers and pass rushers as "front seven player" - anyway, resigning Wilfork is also a very high priority.

I can't recall a season under BB where the Pats gameplans, adjustments and playcalling was so unimpressive and a factor in so many lost games.

For one of the only times in BB's tenure here, I felt that this Patriot team was outcoached after the game ended more times than not. Further, for the first time ever in BB's time here, I can count on my one hand where I felt this Patriot team had the coaching advantage over their opponent heading into a contest. If I felt this way I imagine the players (on both teams) did as well and this is so unlike past Patriots teams who had their opponent beat before the game even began due to a major coaching advantage.

I hope that never happens again so I picked improve coaching.

The NE WR corps is paper thin.

Moss and Edelman. The rest are Jags. Welker might be back for 2010 and Edelman isnt a lock to be as good as Welker in the slot.

Sign a legit # 3 WR.

We've wanted to add an upper echelon pass-rusher for a decade. Everyone would like to do so.

If what we are interested in is winning the season, the critical need is at wide receiver, unless Moss, Edelman, Aiken and Stanback are in any way acceptable.
