Yup. That kind of hurts.

I do think we gave up on Thomas too soon.

He was constantly hurt, dropped numerous easy balls, committed a number of idiotic penalties and quite frankly, played his way off the team. Hindsight is great...like the Giants giving up on Shockey..which BTW was a far more important acquisition for the Saints than Dave Thomas...kill THAT too.

Agreed. Plus Watson and Baker were barely used, so why would Thomas have been so important to this team?

We got a draft pick for a guy who was going to be cut. I'd say that's a win for us.

gotta love the homers who poo-poo whoever leaves the team

thomas, like so many other draft picks for the pats, never get a real chance since there are simply too many reasons to wind up in BB's doghouse

I rather have the 7th round pick.

Well, from what I recall he was developing into a decent...I dunno the best comparison...Kevin Turner? type fullback. Good receiving skills, some blocking skills.

With Heath Evans gone, he could've filled that role ably, plus be a decent option at tight end.

If we had kept Thomas he would have been like the rest of the te's and would have been left unused
