talking about yourself? every time he screwed up, he'd disappear for bunch of games.

I thought he played well enough to earn more time and am glad he is doing well somewhere else

I was talking about garbage that has polluted this board like manure... YUKKKKKK!!
As for the ctying crowd who is wimpering.."oh he didn't get enough time...They didn't give him a chance"... All I can say is that it isn't just playing time in a game that these players are seen...They have many many practices and are looked at in a larger context..What a fan sees is ONLY a sliver..more a glimpse of the time on the stage.. But then again, what do coaches know who see him everyday and did for a few years.. He obviously was going to be cut, so getting a 7th round pick is certainly a plus. I am glad he is doing good..I always thought he would be a good receiver, but he only had a few catches, one big one and obviously too many dumb mistakes.

Gaffney is the player NE should have kept - 54 rec for 732 yards - not Thomas.

What is clear is that they were unable to get production from another pretty high draft pick. Their mediocre talent input is a big part of hte reason they are watching tv at home.

Gaffney had 38 catches for the patriots last year. Edelman had 37 this year.

Different positions on the field.

Different routes.

Different likelihoods of being the hot receiver.

There's almost no comparison.

It may seem bizarre to you, but Watson is a much better all around TE than Thomas and Baker is a much better blocking TE and redzone threat than Thomas. Thomas would have been inactive in almost every game if he were on the patriot roster.

b. that team is a #1 seed with much more talents on his side of the ball
c. that team is loaded with talent receivers, and has another probowl TE already (Shocky)

yet the team that released him:
a. has a depleted offense roster with very few offense weapons
b. has to use special teamer Aiken and practice squader Stanback as the 3rd and 4th receiver
c. has got very little production from its TE position (after trading for another TE Mathews and then waived him as well)

Seems pretty clear cut ... yet some people just refuse to tell the difference between black and white.

Don't tell that to the homers on this message board since they still have their heads buried in the sand. Aside from Gostkowski, the 2006 NFL Draft for the Patriots has turned out to be a disaster.

We will see whether the Patriots re-sign tight end Ben Watson during this off-season.

Thomas had plenty of chances and never put it together here. 1 more season here probably wouldn't have changed that. NO is a better fit for him, that's all there is to it.
