Default Ray Lewis: Brady injuries "the biggest set-up ever"

Ray Lewis thinks Tom Brady injuries are a "set-up" | ProFootballTalk.com

Quote:
"I think sometimes, that's the biggest set-up ever," Lewis said. "Look at all the great ones, man. All the great ones, man, every time you say they're hurt, they come out and have their best games. So, forget all that! Who's hurt and who's not. If you have your uniform on, we understand that you're playing full throttle. You're playing just like who you are."

According to Ian R. Rapoport of the Boston Herald, Lewis used a high, shrill voice while mocking the idea that anyone should think Brady's injuries are affecting him.

"Oh Tom has this! Let's try and do this, let's try and do that," Lewis said. "As soon as you try to do that, it leaves people man-on-man, then he hurts you. . . . Then he's [celebrated] because he's done it with three broke ribs and a finger."

So Ray Lewis is making an excuse about how the Patriots are making an "excuse" should the Ravens lose?

I don't get it.

There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

It actually looks like he is complimenting him about how great he is:

this guys act is getting really old. What the amazing thing is is that neither Brady, Belichick or any member of the Patriots organization have ever complained or used an injury for an excuse for anything. But if you listen to guys like Lewis, you would think the Pats use the injury excuse all the time. All I can say is let Lewis and the Ravens talk. Let them complain, let them speculate and let them make excuses. They did that after facing the Pats in week 4 and went on to lose 5 out of 8 games. They need to be worrying about their own team, rather then others.

It's not a ridiculous assumption: "The Pats release some injury 'news' about Brady to try to give the Ravens some misinformation."

If the Ravens did believe Brady was hurt, they would probably try to bring the heat a little more. If Brady is Brady, he will eat the blitz for breakfast. It makes sense to me.

I think Ray is just saying that he may or may not have the injuries that may or may not have been factually reported.

this guy has a chip on his shoulder the size of the grand canyon...he constantly has to draw attention to himself and he continually has to feel like someone is putting something over on him...

he's very predictable and very boring...

Remember when Ray pretended to kill two people and then won the Super Bowl MVP a year later? That was the biggest set-up ever.
