Thanks Mack

What is it going to take to dispose of the "we won because they sucked/beat themselves" crowd?

Seriously, this site has gone from the pinnacle of quality football discussion to that type of banter.

After seeing what the Panthers did to the Vikings/Giants (and how well Matt Moore has played) it's amazing this type of blabber still infects every thread.

Indeed. Some on here will find some way of saying every win we get was against a lousy team no matter who or where it is. Unless it's 59-0 Pats then the moaners on this site are simply never happy. For me it was a great game and great performance yesterday. Anybody who finds something to moan about should stop sucking lemons, grow a pair and be lucky they are Pats fans. Failing that they can go and support the Jets.

I just can't beleive that 2 tightends actually caught passes? When was the last time that Baker and Watson each had a catch? Back in week 4 or 5? The offense played beautifully today, and hopefully this means they are peaking at the right time.

That's about the size of it.

Going into the playoffs, the Pats are peaking right now or maybe will bring it up another notch next week, where we will see what kind of secondary and pass rush we really have. Either way, the D has given up an average of 9 points a game over the last three weeks. Moss is back in happy land for whatever reason. The offense is building steam. We have the best receiver in the game (not Moss) and Sammy Morris is in for Maroney. I love the momentum and the improvement at the right time. How many Denver fans would rather be winning games now instead of in September?

So how bout them Cardinals? Good team.

Amen.

Same as last year. The Patriots looked awful against the Squeelers and for much of the Seahawks game, but then looked like just about the best team in football the rest of the year.

And to think that the D was playing w/o Wilfork, too. . . .

Insert Wilfork into yesterday- applying pressure around the center, and the Jags don't get a first down.

good point!

I didn't see the game, but this reminds me of the 28-0 win over the Tampa Bay Bucs in 2005. It was near the end of the season, and it looked like a perfect win. I remember thinking, if we play like this in the playoffs, nobody beats us. And we played like that in the first playoff game beating Jacksonville 28-3, and then got shocked by Denver. Hopefully history doesn't repeat itself. We need the Pats to play like yesterday all the way through to the Super Bowl (and in the SB !).

This is the same as the Carolina game where folks said the patriots "struggled" to beat the panthers and yet the next two weeks those same panthers have absolutely dominated both the vikings and giants, give credit where credit is due this was the most complete game played by the patriots this year and i agree with brady the pats if they play a consistent game at this level for a full 60 mins there isn't a team in the league they can't beat.
Well said!

Its because the Vikings played a few quality teams and won (the Vikings beat the Packers TWICE)..this team has yet to win against a team that is not threatening 8-8 or worse so what do you really expect from some people?...they are actually right until proven differently

In order for everyone here to feel 100% confident it has to go into SD or Indy and win and prove they are not just beating up the sisters of the poor....thats the bottom line.

I am not taking away from a great win and a domination performance yesterday but lets hope that is a continuace for once this season in a season of inconsistency.

If this team were in almost any other division with better competition we would be scratching for a playoff spot right now.
