Default This year's biggest win? Atlanta?

Its not tonight that bothers me. This has been a tough season. As we approach week 10, the Patriots have only one win all season against a team which currently has a winning record. That makes Atlanta ( 5-4 ) this season's biggest win.

It also hurts that last season's Matt Cassell lead team had a higher winning percentage (barely )than the current 2009 squad. This has been a tough year.

Exactly. I'm not trying to pile on. I hate feeling like knowing the season isa a waste because they aren't good enough.

But against teams above .500 its been night and day with this team. They pound the NFL's weak and fall to the NFL's best. I bet if you bring up their record from 2005 against teams .500 and better and teams under .500 it would be a noticable difference.

This team continues to show they're close. They're capable. But they seem to lack that one little thing, that "it" factor to make the right plays in the right situation at the end of big games. It's the same reason we're sitting here this year, like the last 4 talking about how close they were and how they should have won this game. It's all too familiar.

Like you said, it's not just tonight. It's the big picture. It's the fact that they have struggled against good teams the last few years.

You said it. The Jets have lost 5 out of their last 6 games and crushing them next week will be fun, but the following week against the Saints is the big game. This team needs at least one win this season against a good team before the playoffs start.

that it factor the pats dont have is a runing game that can get you that big 1 or 2 yerd's the eat up the clock

and a passrush that can get to the QB when they are up by 2 TD's

that's some thing they had when they where wining SB's

can they still win a SB this year i dont think so it will be hard for them to go on the road and win 3 game's to get there

they do not play good on the road this year

We are 6-3 and are pretty much a lock to win the AFC East, lets calm down and start looking at the reality. Yeah, we lost a tough game tonight, but we also showed a lot of positives. We can compete with the best team in the league. We outplayed them for 3.5 quarters. Our defense is very young and are going to have these breakdowns. They are getting better and better each week. I dont think any team in the league is going to want to play the New England Patriots come playoff time.

Totally agree. To be honest, I had my doubts about this game. I didn't think we would have won it anyway due to home field advantage, Freeney & Mathis, Manning vs. our young DBs. But the main thing is we freaken DOMINATED this game on OFFENSE. The Pats were marching up and down the field but had trouble like the last game where they left points on the field. I think the Patriots will be a dangerous team in the playoffs...even as a visiting team.

The Patriots have zero (0) wins this season at another teams stadium. Zero.

This game was make or break I thought. The 6-3 record is ok, but winning 3 playoff games to get to the SB with 2 on the road is highly unlikely. It will be interesting to see how this Pats team rebounds from this loss. Keep in mind the team is young and mentally recovering from this kind of defeat is gonna be quite a task. Losses like this can break a franchise or be "that" game to point to to grow upon later in the season. This sort of reminds me of the Lakers Robert Horry's game winning 3 pointer against the Sacramento Kings--that epic comeback never allowed the Kings to recover and ensured a dynasty for the Lakers. I hope this is not the end of it, b/c this was a shocking, numbing defeat of epic proportions.

We're only half way through the season. It's just 3 losses, yes its an issue but one that can definitely be fixed. Cant wait for the NO game on MNF, another big game on the road.

As The Dynasty mentions, we are 6-3 and virtually a lock to win the division and make the playoffs. Saying "this has been a tough year" just shows how spoiled we have become as Patriots fans.

Go tell Detroit Lions fans we are having a tough year and see what their reaction is.
