moss cant play welker's game welker dose that because he is short and quick and play's low to the ground like a RB so he will not take that big of a hit

moss has a big uper body there is a lot to hit if he try's to go for that one or 2 more yerd's like welker dose he will get a broken rib

and then not only we wont have moss but it will be a lot easier to stop welker's 5 yerd catch's that turn's into 12 yerd first down's when moss is not takeing 2 guys down the field with him on every play

People used to criticize Marvin Harrison for this. I guess they should rip Jerry Rice too for when he did it.

Word. Anyone ever try to play any sport with a bad back, much less taking punishment from NFL defenses?

The first time he took himself out of the game you could definitely see that his back was hurting the ***** out of him when he got up off the turf. He's a F'n gamer if anything for going back in to take even more hits.

I see this as both a good and a bad sign for the Pats. Age definitely taking its toll on him now and he's in the final year of his contract [right?]. He could be done after this year and TFB is going to do everything humanly possible to get him a ring this year.

There were lot of stupid comments on this board today, but I actually think this one might take the cake. If you think that it's smart for Moss to be letting safeties take free shots at him over the middle, then you're completely missing the point. Keeping Moss healthy is priority B (Brady is priority A)- we need both of them functioning at near-100%.

Aye. A sore back that would have any one of us on the floor all day moaning and groaning. I know what it feels like to have an injury like he did. It damn near crippled me for a few days and I'm in my early 20's!

Nope, he has at least one more year after this one. Moss is far from old- no way he hangs it up after this year.

OK, I agree he won't hang it up after this year if he's physically able to go. Just said it could happen. If you've ever had severe back pain, I don't care how old you are, let's just say it's really hard to play any sport.

Are you nutz? He is the best WR in the history of the game and you want to put Tate in for him; that's crazy. As far dropping to the ground; I think it is the smart thing to so. No way I want him crushed one play after another. Guys who can get to the ground quickly like Faulk or Moss have some staying power. Why make some DB's day and give him free shots. Faulk and Moss must be incredibly fustrating to DBs because they cannot (usually) get their pound of flesh.

You are sounding like Jerry Callahan or Freaking Felger; mean-spirited and ill-informed rants against Moss.

Moss is a highly-intelligent hard-working supremely skilled player. The best player that the Patriots have ever had or arguably second to Brady and cretins like Felger want to get rid of him. Felger also wanted to dump Ben Watson! Don't be a Felger.

I love it when a guy with a keyboard resting on his beer gut calls out football players.

WRs who fight for extra yardage are doing no one any favors. THey get hurt and then what good were those 2 extra yards every other catch.

Even guys like Welker don't really fight. I you notice, he squirts and dives.

WRs who have two guys breating down their necks need to drop to the ground so they will be here come playoff time.

That’s what we always do, and I think the last nine years we’ve put a pretty competitive team out there on the field every year. I think that’s how you do it – you get good football players. Sometimes they are not always at the No. 1 position, but I don’t think you pass up good football players to get the guys who aren’t as good just because they’re at a position that somebody feels you need.”
