With contract extensions. OK, so that makes more sense. Obviously, though... these are going to be money saving moves. So not every cut we're seeing is permanent.

No way they are money saving moves this season. Rather they are means to extending their contractual obligation at potentially lesser value than either might have claimed after this season as UFA.

Makes sense...they are cutting them as they have 1 year deals...so they can have extensions AND a lower cap number this year...so basically making the move to get MORE cap money.

This news makes me feel so much better about the PATs, I have always believed they were a classy organization, so I hope this is true. It would have been horrible if TBC was cut and dry.

These extensions will likely reduce cap hits, though. Maybe moving bonuses into next year or whatever.

TBC was a minimum salary contract. He's getting more in a long term deal and we're eating the remainder on the deal we cut him from regardless... I'd assume a similar situation with alexander although I'm too lazy to look him up now that Miguel's page isn't linked to the main forum...

I keep seeing that Alexander was released, yet I've not been able to find an article or tweet about it.. Is this just speculation or did it actually happen?

Alexander has not been released. I don't know what you mean about "you keep that he was released" because I haven't seen that at all. Only TBC, Galloway, and Matthews have been released.

WEEI and that new station are both reporting it. Also Albert Breer.
