Default ESPN Rumors - Pats could trade Galloway to the Ravens

I have ESPN insider access.

NFL Rumors - NFL Trade Rumors, Free Agency Rumors and More - Rumor Central - ESPN

Quote:
Joey Galloway has not had much of an impact at all this season for the New England Patriots, especially given his recent tendency to be scratched by the team in spite of being healthy.

Last week, a source told ESPN's Ed Werder that this was all "part of the Patriot maturation process", and that the Patriots are unlikely to release the wide receiver. The thinking goes that because Galloway is a vested veteran, his appearance on the opening-day roster guaranteed his salary for the season.

Of course, that doesn't preclude the Pats from trading the 37 year-old, given the emergence of Julian Edelman, and the latest word is that the Baltimore Ravens might be interested, according to Mike Lombardi of the NFL Network, per Ravens Insider.

I'll trade him straight up for Ed Reed.

The slight chance he has of turning it around outweighs the benefit of the 7th rounder they would likely get for him.

Since they have reed maybe they are willing to part ways with a safety.

I think the patriots hang on to him, seeing how they are 5-2.

If Galloway starts to catch the ball we wouldnt be having any big issues with Galloway.

The 2007 offense had Moss, stallworth, welker, you take away stallworth and you add a part-time galloway the offense will still win games.

Save Galloway for the playoffs.

The Pats 4-2 and with the way we played yesterday I think that our wide out corps is set. Galloway had a shot and Aiken has played well it's time to move on.

I guess you have to weigh up what you get back v what you are potentially giving to your opponents.

Nothing to say Joey can't go into a Baltimore system and click, then all we've done in return for a 7th draft pick is arm a team we're likely to face further down the line
