It was pathetic. 6 predictable running plays in a row. We needed some points and they go 3 and out to "protect the QB"? Why not just forfeit the game at that point if they were that worried, that's pretty much what they did.
They felt that it was a better idea not to take the chance of reinjuring the franchise in an early season game and still be able to come out in the next series and light it up with pass play after pass play. It was the smarter thing to do. Like I said, if you feel it's so pathetic then, by all means, you can always leave and go root for another team.

They were LEADING THE GAME? Were you even watching?

Then they decided to throw it away by running 2 yard dive after 2 yard dive. It was pointless.

I know IBBWT, but this is ridiculous. Drop the kool-aid, homer.

I just looked at the recap on the ESPN page...you're nuts...there was exactly ONE 2 yard run by the Pats in the 4th quarter...there were a proportionately large number of botched passing plays .Calling an overtime loss "pointless" is knee jerk idiotic. Blaming it on mythical "2 yard run after 2 yard runs" is flat out moronic.

Were you watching the game? They were leading, Light goes down, they run 6 times in a row and get basically nothing. They lose the game. Brilliant.

And 5-0? YEAH, the broncos are 5-0 thanks to playing teams like the pat(sies).

Thumbs down Re: FORSBERG: Vollmer to Step in for Light?

There it is.....I've been waiting for the inevitable bash.....

Patsies?
Someone isn't watching the games, or wasn't around when they WERE the 'Patsies", cuz there is NO comparison to that era of teams.

Bah, go have another Rum and Coke.

Pass rush? Uneccessary when you have 72 CBS playing.
Lbs? What for, we have no pass rush, they gonna chuck it at our lousy CBS...all 72 of them bums

According to the gamebook, the results were not really that bad: They had one rushing play that gained less than 3 yards (a draw to Kevin faulk on 3rd down -- we'd never do that if Light was in the game ). Thanks to the Broncos stupid 4th down penalty, the drive lasted until there were two incomplete passes ... maybe they should have kept running!

Ignore him, he's a troll pretending to be a Patriots fan. Ask yourself this: have you ever in your entire life heard any New England fan refer to the Pats as the Patsies? Even once, after an interception, loss, whatever?

Now ask yourself, as a point of reference: how many times have you heard or read fans of other teams refer to the Pats as Patsies?

Here's an analogy: how often have you heard somebody outside of New England refer to Boston as Beantown? Now how many times have you heard somebody that is actually from the Boston area refer to the city as Beantown?

I was looking forward to the gradual maturation process of Vollmer. Maybe put him in against players Light's historically struggled with and go from there...

I really hope this isn't a case of too much too soon.

Up until 1993, I didn't know the nickname 'Patsies' was an insult... that's what I grew up with during the late 80's and early 90's.

Go PATRIOTS!
