Default Edelman vs. Welker

Keep this in mind the next time you see Edelman making a catch. He is so far ahead of Welker at the same point of their careers. Welker had no receptions his 1st year with the Chargers and Dolphins. Edelman already has 15 and probably will eclispe the total of 29 that Welker had with the Dolphins in his second season.

who needs galloway when you have edelman, I wish brady would have continued throwing to both but he seemed to focus solely on welker the second half.

Great point. I think it will be interesting if they start getting them both involved simultaneously during the game. Both are great at getting open, and since they both tend to work the middle of the field hopefully it will give Moss some more chances deep and Brady will start hitting him. This has been a great thing to watch him develop - definitely one of the positives so far this season.

Of course, Welker had zero catches his first season because the LOLphins are morons. . . .

I don't know how many downs Edelman played in the second half. This is yet another blunder in the offensive gameplan/adjustments. They went away from the effective underneath and crossing routes in the second half and went further downfield, throws that Brady wasn't making.
Edelman played only 13 snaps yesterday. Don't think he saw much run in the 2nd half.

I like Edelman a lot but I think we're stocked up on short WRs now. He's 5-10 and Welker is 5-9.

You're mixing your scales. If Welker is 5'9", WWMM is 6'. If Edelman is 5'10", then Welker's 5'7".

I too wish Brady would use the third receiver more. It will help stress the defense some.

I think opposing Defense respected our running game more when Taylor was in the backfield.

This point might have more validity if at the end of the season Edelman could rack up 1,879 all-purpose yards, which Welker managed to do while playing for both San Diego and Miami. Two teams who should be kicking themselves for gross stupidity above and beyond the call of duty.
