according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Seau won't be signing with the team this week.

Instead, the deal is expected to be done next week, with Seau joining the Pats for their October 18 game against the Titans.

Reason? My guess is that they don't want to release a player just yet. Aren't the Jets capable of signing someone without having to release anyone after trading two players for Braylon?

Were I BB, just to thwart the Jets, I'd trade a player I was going to cut. It would be for a conditional 7th with a condition that in reality couldn't be met. No price for the receiving team that wasn't the NYJ.

Just another reason BB is a great GM and I'm just posting on the internet.
