Re: Hey Pats fans - how do you think Tony Romo would do in the Pats' system?
Tony Romo might actually do well in our system. Our line is mobile enough to play to his strength I think.

Yup. Need education here too.
Romo lacks the most significant skillsets to succeed here. Poise, presence, accuracy, discipline, patience, temperment, work ethic, field vision, mentality, leadership, unwavering focus, humility... Intangibles.

Also - here in Dallas last year, alot of people(but not me) were pointing fingers at Terrell Owens b/c supposedly, his whining and crying over wanting to be happy and get the ball alot ended up hurting Romo's reads when he would drop back in the pocket. Well...despite a dangerous running game now that Jason Garrett is utilizing...well...let's just say you can't blame someone else for your own problems.
Dallas never should have chosen to go with Romo over Bledsoe. It was a mistake that's been killing that team.
Then again, that team's made so many terrible mistakes that one more probably doesn't matter.

I think it was a lesser of two evils decision Bledsoe forced on Tuna. But I agree that they've made more mistakes in Dallas than crowning Romo prematurely.

Come to think of it - Parcells admitted in an interview months after the Seattle "bobbled snap" playoff game that Romo's mistake was the reason he walked away - heck, Parcells pretty much warned the press and Cowboy fans to NOT get overexcited over him after a few games back in 2006(when he had that hot start taking over for Bledsoe).
Although I was never of fan of Parcells here in Dallas - you have to admit, this man is pretty wise and sharp when it comes to football. Alot of the things that he predicted to unfold after he left has pretty much been unveiled.

So Belichick would not possibly get Romo to improve in any of those areas???
You can't prove that anymore than anyone could prove he'd be better here.
Romo had better promise when Parcells was there ... I think he just needs a stricter system to flourish.
Re: Hey Pats fans - how do you think Tony Romo would do in the Pats' system?
Dallas is actually a pretty well run organization that has a consistent POSSIBILITY of success each season, which is all any team can ask for. (Yes Jones is a stone's throw away from being too much of a meddler.)
As for Romo? He is a good QB, but would do horribly in our system. His best attributes are all physical, whereas our offense requires strong mental attributes. Romo wouldn't be able to make the correct protection adjustments at the line and is probably not good enough with pre-snap reads (which is why he has to scramble around so much.)
He would be a good fit for some other teams in the league, though.
