I don't think this is what happened... the Pats would have just released him if that was the case.
We signed him to our PS because we thought he could develop into a player we could use later and avoid having to give the Ravens a 7th round pick for him.
The Ravens had a LB go on IR and signed him back. I think we wanted him, but not enough to keep him on the 53 man roster and give up a pick for him.
And this wasn't retribution by the Ravens for the loss, since they tried to get him back before the game, but the rules wouldn't allow them to.
