Default Pass happy in Q3

Why is it for the last 3 weeks when we have had a first half with a balanced offense, moving the ball, scoring points and running the ball well (Maroney excluded), that each time we hit Q3 its just pass-pass-pass every down?

You could just see that strip coming and I cant see why the offensive playcallers just abandon the run come the second half each and every week

And each and every week it doesnt work

No doubt the O is getting better, Brady is getting better and we have the tools but some of the playcalling still seems to be way off

We had 32 passes and 30 runs in the game. That's hardly pass happy. If you want to put every possession under the microscope for balance, that's a new standard of pickiness. And it can go both ways. On our last possession of the game we went 3 and out after running ineffectively. Maybe we should have used the short pass. A first down or two puts us in field goal range, chews up the clock, and probably ices the game.

What's esp. troubling about these 3rd quarters is that they highlight the coaches' inability or unwillingness to properly make 2nd-half adjustments.

Shame on Dean Pees for his inability and unwillingness to make halftime adjustments, allowing the Ravens' offense to score zero points in the 3rd quarter.

Come on, we all know the strip sack was brutal, but that's it. The Patriots' offense was otherwise very effective in the 3rd quarter with 8 first downs and a TD against an excellent defense.

The play selection at times is extremely mind boggling. On their previous drive before the strip sack, the offense did a play action under center on 3rd and 10. Seriously? On 3rd and longs, most teams will pin their ears back and go after the QB in those situations. Then on the next drive, Brady does another play action on 1st and 10, gets sacked, fumbles and picked up for a touchdown.

Finally, their final drive where they ended up scoring three points was frustrating. I believe they were at the Ravens 5-7 yard line on a 1st and goal and opted to go the shotgun route for 3 straight plays. Unbelievable!

You need to respect the Ravens defense they are one of the best in the league. They are going to make a big play like that. Please, we beat a very good football team and are 3-1. Can we be positive?

Would anyone care to actually do the work of looking up the pass-run ration IN THE 3RD QUARTER, which is what we are allegedly discussing?

We had 39 called pass plays. (32 passes thrown, 4 scrambles, 3 sacks)

We had 26 called run plays (including Brady's sneak).

Thats 60:40, which still aint bad.

Come on. The strip-sack TD was simply put a gigantic breakdown by Matt Light. No other Raven was even close to getting to Tom. If Light doesn't bite on the inside fake, Brady's looking at all day to throw.

Chris
