380yds and nearly 40 completions of NOT following thru. Jaworski needed to follow his own advice back in his day at his one shot at a SB title. One of the worst big game performances of all time. He needs to just shut up about Brady. He's obviously forgotten how hard the position can be to play.

Looked like he was following though in the last five minutes of the Bills game. Before, not so much. Which is why I think needing to win that game was psychologically huge for Brady's return to being Brady.

Jaws is right. Brady has been tentative and has really not played that well. Even so, when he was off his game, he had ~380 yards! Brady will get better as the season goes on.

Jaworski was right, he actually showed where Tom wasn't planting his foot. He had issues going down the field because of it, the short passes didn't require the foot plant as much. But as the game wore on, Tom started planting the foot and the throws stopped going high and had some zip to them. Tom needs to be able to plant the foot, even if the pass rush is coming, he needs to plant the foot.

I think Jaws was, keyword, WAS right that Tom HAD that problem, but I suspect we don't see it today. If we do, then there's a problem, a problem Tom needs to and will address. Pass protection is key to helping Brady get over ( if it exists ) the mental block everyone's talking about.

I have always believed that the best way to slow down Brady is to have major push up the middle so he can't step int his throws. Brady was clearly not stepping into his 1st half tosses resulting in several throws sailing high. Clearly Brady became more comfortable in the 2nd half, striding forward, and pitching strikes. Give credit to him, the OLine...and a tired DLine that just can't bring the heat on 50 pass plays

This is kind of a phony argument, though. Obviously, this is true for ALL quarterbacks, at ALL times. I'm sure if you went back and looked at Brady footage even at his best, you'd notice that when he's got pressure in his face, with less room for being comfortable and stepping into throws, he'll be less successful. While you're at it, check Peyton for the same thing. And Elway. And Montana.

Meanwhile, look at this to be a lesser, and more specific, version of the "They hate their coach" meme from 2003.

I noticed it, but apparently he fixed it. Might be a matter of warming up. He does need to watch it, bad mechanics can cause injuries elsewhere.

Brady did struggle with it in the first half, but he got over it and settled down. To be honest, I thought he might struggle with it for a few games. If that's all, I'll be thrilled.

IMHO, Brady was just fine the last 5 minutes of the game. His passes had zip and he was stepping in and following through. Beginning of the game, he was still feeling his way.....

A sarcastic Bill Belichick on Tom Brady's finger injury, "It's not life threatening."
